The Voivod's Office of Lubelskie in Lublin, a part of the regional governmental administration, guarantees realisation of tasks under the authority of the Voivod (Governor) of Lubelskie. The Office's headquarters is located in Lublin and its branch offices in Biała Podlaska, Chełm and Zamość.
Due to the Voivod's role as a supervisory body over the units of territorial self-government, the employees of the The Voivod's Office of Lubelskie verify compliance of acts adopted by self-governments with the law. The acts are published in the Official Journal of the Lubelskie Province published by the Office.
The employees of the The Voivod's Office of Lubelskie conduct inspections in the scope of law observance by gmina and poviat authorities and self-government units as well as entities benefiting from public funds.
The most common enquiries of individuals directed to the Office regard issuing of passports. In addition the Office is responsible for matters related to citizenship, legalisation of residence of foreigners as well as questions of safety and crisis management.

The Voivod (Governor) is a territorial representative of the Council of Ministers and a head of joint governmental administration, such as the Police Force, Fire Service and Regional Veterinary Inspectorate in Lublin.
The Voivod supervises regional self-government units verifying compliance of the acts adopted by them with the law.
The Voivod is a higher level authority as defined by regulations on administrative procedure based on appropriate acts. It refers for example to issuing administrative decisions in the scope of construction law.
The Voivod represents the State Treasury in relation to the property entrusted to him in order to perform his tasks.
In addition the Voivod is entitled to give state decorations awarded by the President of the Republic of Poland.
Realisation of the Voivod's tasks is ensured by the Voivod's Office of Lubelskie in Lublin.

The Voivod of Lubelskie Jolanta Szołno-Koguc
In 2009 she was appointed to a post of a chairman of the Adjudication Joint Committee in the matters related to the infringement of public finance discipline. In 2011 she also performed a function of a representative for finances of the Mayor of Lublin and she was a member of the Supervisory Board of the Municipal Water and Sewage Service in Lublin.
She is a member of scientific organisations: Polish Association of Finances and Banking, Association - Centre of Information and Organisation of Research in the field of Public Finances and Tax Law in the Countries of Central and Eastern Europe, Committee of Economics and Management of the Department of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Lublin.
Prof. Jolanta Szołno-Koguc took part in many implementation and research projects. She is an author of over 80 scientific publications in the field of organisation and functioning of the public finance sector (state special purpose funds in particular), financial management of local government units (such as instruments of contemporary finance management of local government units, among others, including task budgeting), taxes and tax system.
In 1997 she received an individual award of the second degree of the rector of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University and in 2003 a team award of the third degree of the rector of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University for a publication titled Process of adapting Polish indirect taxes to the standards of European Union. A doctoral thesis of Prof. Jolanta Szołno-Koguc titled Functioning of special purpose funds in Poland in view of principles of rational management of public funds was awarded in the Contest of the President of the National Bank of Poland for the best thesis in the scope of economic sciences in 2008.
Moreover, Prof. Jolanta Szołno-Koguc holds a diploma of a trainer in the scope of a public administration reform and qualifications of a consultant and advisor in the scope of public sector finances, in particular financial planning, budgeting (task) and analysis of public services costs.
In 2006 she was honoured with the Bronze Cross of Merit.
Jolanta Szołno-Koguc is married. She has one child.
The Vice-Voivod of Lubelskie Henryka Strojnowska
teacher in the Stefan Batory High School in Lublin and in technical colleges in Lubartów and Lublin. Then for a long time she worked on managerial positions in social assistance units.
In the years 1994-1995 she worked as Vice-Director of the Mother Teresa of Calcutta Welfare Centre in Lublin, while in the years 1996-2000 as its Director. In the years 2002-2003 she worked as a Director of "Forest", a private nursing home for the elderly in Lublin.
She has a long-standing experience in conducting training sessions on HR management, negotiations and interpersonal communication. She held sessions for governor's and other central offices, ministries as well as customs and self-government authorities.
From 2006 she acted as Vice-President of Lublin City Council. On
10 January 2008 Henryka Strojnowska was appointed the Vice-Voivod of Lubelskie.
Henryka Strojnowska is married and has two children.
Chief Executive Officer of the Voivod's Office of Lubelskie Jarosław Szymczyk
Clerk, Senior Clerk, Audit Inspector and Head of the Insurance Department.
From 2002 he has worked in the Voivod's Office of Lubelskie, initially as the acting Director of the Social Policy Department and from September 2004 as the Vice-Director of this Department.
From 1 December 2005 he has been a Civil Service Officer. On 1 January 2008 he was appointed the Chief Executive Officer of the Lubelskie Governor's Office in Lublin.
He is married and has four children.

The Voivod's Office of Lubelskie is responsible for many matters related to legalisation of residence of foreigners in the Republic of Poland. These matters fall under the duties of the Citizens' Affairs and Foreigners Department.
Foreigners can apply at Voivod's Office of Lubelskie in Lublin for:
- settlement permit for foreigners declaring Polish nationality,
- limited residence permit,
- settlement permit,
- residence permit for long-term residents of European Communities,
- extension of a Schengen or domestic visa,
- replacement of a residence card,
- registration of residence of EU citizens,
- registration of residence of family members of EU citizens staying with them in the Republic of Poland (residence longer than 3 months),
- acquisition of a right to permanent residence in the Republic of Poland by EU citizens or family members being EU citizens,
- issuing of a residence card for non-EU citizen family members of EU citizens (residence longer than 3 months),
- acquisition of a right to permanent residence in the Republic of Poland by non-EU citizen family members of EU citizens.
Citizens' Affairs and Foreigners Department also holds a register of invitations for foreigners.
In addition to the matters regarding legalisation of residence the Voivod's Office of Lubelskie is also responsible for issuing work permits for foreigners. It is the responsibility of the Social Policy Department.

The Lubelskie Province, total area of 25,122 sq km, is a third largest province in Poland. It is located in the central-eastern part of Poland. It constitutes the eastern border of the European Union. It neighbours on Ukraine and Belarus. Within the administrative division of Poland it borders on Mazovia, Podlaskie, Podkarpackie and Świętokrzyskie Provinces. The capital city of the province is Lublin where the regional authorities are located.
The province is divided into 4 municipal poviats, 20 land poviats and 213 gminas.
In the Lubelskie Province there are six road, four rail and one air international border crossings managed on behalf of the Governor by the Lublin Executive Board for Border Crossings in Chełm.
The air border crossing point:
- in Świdnik.
On the border with Belarus there are the following crossings:
- road border crossing point in Kukuryki, Terespol and Sławatycze,
- rail border crossing point in Terespol.
On the border with Ukraine there are the following crossings:
- road border crossing point in Dorohusk, Hrebenne, Zosina,
- rail border crossing point in Dorohusk, Hrubieszów, Hrebenne.
In the Lubelskie Province there are very favourable conditions for agricultural production due to high quality soil, black earth created on loesses, lessive soil, brown soil and fertile rendzina. Lubelskie region is a significant grain producer, in particular of wheat, oat and barley as well as potatoes, sugar beet, vegetables, hop, tobacco and hemp. The region is also an important producer of milk, honey and herbs. The Lubelskie Province is a leading Polish producer of soft fruit, especially raspberry. Also well-developed is pig, cattle and horse farming (famous horse stud in Janów Podlaski).
Main industrial centres of the region include Lublin, Świdnik, Puławy, Chełm, Krasnystaw, Zamość, Biłgoraj, Biała Podlaska and Kraśnik.
The most developed industry sectors in the region comprise:
- food sector,
- chemical sector,
- production of vehicles, machines and devices,
- coal mining.
The Lubelskie Province has an extensive network of schools and education centres of all levels. In Lublin there are five public universities: Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, Lublin University of Technology, Medical University of Lublin and University of Life Sciences. In the region's capital there are also many private schools.
The Lubelskie Province, as a region of co-existence and interpenetration of various cultures and religions, as well as a place of important historical events occupies an important place in the culture of Poland and Europe.
Within the Lubelskie Province there are many monuments, castles, palaces, manor houses and temples. Among the particularly valuable are the Holy Trinity Chapel at Lublin Castle, Dominican Monastery in Lublin, residence of the Zamoyscy family in Kozłówka and the Old Town in Zamość entered on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Also very popular among tourists visiting the Lubelskie Province are Kazimierz Dolny upon Vistula - with its folk festivals, Puławy - with the old seat of the Czartoryscy family, Nałęczów - famous for its spa qualities and the incredibly rich in wildlife region of Roztocze.
